Solo Jazz Banjo

Here is some solo jazz banjo.

┬áThe Standard “All The Things” followed by the Jobim song “Corcovado”. ┬áThe full arrangements contain multiple key changes and improvisations. This explores the use of the fifth string to add extensions to chords and more.

The challenge is attempting to add these extended chords on a 5 string instrument. So certain right-hand techniques have to be used to create these sounds.

Bossa Nova is a type of music that hasn’t been done much on the banjo that I believe lends itself well to the instrument. I look forward to adding more Jobim to my banjo repertoire.
