Bluegrass Band Atlanta

Bluegrass Band in the Atlanta area

Hughes Music has provided professional Bluegrass music in the Atlanta area for over 15 years. We’ve played at private corporate events, business dinners, trade shows, and weddings.

What type of bluegrass music do we play?

We can play all of the traditional bluegrass favorites like:

  • Foggy Mountain Breakdown
  • Man of Constant Sorrow
  • Ballad of Jed Clampett
  • Rocky Top
  • Shady Grove
  • Dooley
  • The Old Home Place
  • Sunny Side of the Mountain

Essentially, we do most of the Flatt & Scruggs, Ralph Stanley, Jimmy Martin, and traditional bluegrass repertoire plus more modern bluegrass.

Fiddle + Banjo Duo (Fiddle Tune)

However, maybe you don’t want JUST bluegrass at your event?  Maybe half of your attendees have never heard bluegrass and you want something for them as well?  No problem.  We also do:

  • Beatles
  • Frank Sinatra/Jazz Standards
  • James Taylor
  • John Prine
  • Old School country
  • Bela Fleck

We can do a wide variety of repertoire to ensure everyone at your event hears something they like.

We can tailor our set list to fit your needs and atmosphere.

Brief Band Bio

Myself on Banjo and/or guitar.  I’ve been fortunate enough to play on the stages of Carnegie Hall, The Grand Ole Opry, and The Ryman Auditorium in my career. I’ve played at weddings and private events all over the Southeastern United states.  Performances for a few Hollywood stars, presidential cabinet members, and numerous business trade shows.

It’s my goal to bring the absolute best music to your event, to make sure the atmosphere you envision comes to life.

Upright Bass-Scott Glazer; Scott has performed with artists such as grammy winning guitarists Earl Klugh, Kristian Bush (Sugarland), Scott Henderson, and more.

Violin/Fiddle-Danny Bermel or Chuck Nation

Mandolin-Jared Lanham

We do have our own sound equipment if needed.  I usually suggest some sort of amplification if the attendance is greater than 75.  At the same time, we also play fully unplugged as well.

Here is one website you can see our past 5 star reviews:

Bluegrass Band 5 star Reviews

“Jody and his band are absolute pros! They tailored their performance to perfectly fit our venue. We made a special request for our first song and the guys owned it! It was an incredible night made possible by these guys. We could not have asked for a better performance and all of our guests (of all ages and backgrounds) really loved it.”-Patrick

“Jody Hughes and his band are fantastic. They played at my wedding – ceremony and reception – on April 12th. They showed up on time and were able to role with the punches easily. They sounded terrific and really helped set the mood making my wedding amazing. Jody was also wonderful to work with, he answered any questions I had promptly and they were able to learn a special song I requested. They did a great job and would be a great choice for anyone looking for a band.”-Kathryn

Trio

A bluegrass Trio consists of myself on Banjo/Guitar (and vocals if requested), Upright Bass, and Fiddle (or mandolin).  A bluegrass trio is good for those who are on a bit of a budget.  A bluegrass trio is also a good choice if you want a quieter sound (For example, perfect for background music)

RATES

Rates for the bluegrass trio begin at $900.

Exact prices change depending on location, duration of the event, and if there are any special song requests.  We are based out of the Marietta and Greater Atlanta areas.

Full Band

If you desire a larger/fuller sound, I can also do a full bluegrass band.  This consists of the trio plus an additional guitarist/singer.

RATES

RATES for a four piece bluegrass band begin at $1200
