Top Reasons Acoustic Guitar Works GREAT for North Georgia Weddings

I’ve played solo acoustic guitar at North Georgia weddings for over twenty years. There’s something special and romantic about acoustic guitar that a DJ or even a full band can’t deliver.
I’ve played at everything from the most exquisite hotels in downtown Atlanta to simple backyard weddings. Solo guitar isn’t limited to a particular landscape.
Here are a few reasons you should consider hiring an acoustic guitarist for your north Georgia wedding:
- Blends in with the scenery
- It’s more personable than a DJ
- Sounds great outdoors
- More affordable
- It’s not too loud
- Less stress for you
- Can customize the songs (tempo/cues)
- Variety

Acoustic Guitar Blends In & Is Personable
Picture a vineyard with some small hills, a creek, or a few trees in the fall. An acoustic guitar, without a bunch of electrical cords and large speakers, matches the scene perfectly. You absolutely don’t want excess equipment cluttering up your beautiful wedding scenery.
Acoustic guitar is simple but timeless. Not to mention, perhaps your ceremony is away from the main building and there won’t be any electrical plug-ins. Acoustic guitar doesn’t require it!
An acoustic guitar is more personable than a DJ playing songs through a speaker. Live music adds a special touch; that’s why it has been used for hundreds of years at wedding ceremonies. The musician adds something to your ceremony that your guests can tangibly see and reflect on.
More Affordable & Less Stress
Cost is always important. My wedding packages start around $400. A band or string trio is going to be $1000 minimum. A solo acoustic guitarist leaves you with more money to spend elsewhere on your wedding. You get that live music MAGIC without breaking the bank.
A band can have four or more members. This is more people to worry about showing up on time, dressing appropriately, acting appropriately, and so forth. If you have one person to deal with with decades of experience, doing the right things at the right time, this means less worries for you. SIMPLE = LESS STRESS.
Acoustic guitar can be soft and subtle; it’s not too loud. Perhaps you have a small guest list. The tenderness of solo guitar can deliver exactly the right volume levels. A band might be too much. For larger weddings, I have a small speaker I sometimes use as needed.
Customization
Perhaps you are set on a song for your ceremony, but you want to hear it faster or slower? Good luck getting a DJ and recording to do that. I sometimes even respond to how fast or slow the bridge is walking with the song tempo. Suppose you want the song to start in the middle section? A DJ can cue the song up, but lots can go wrong here.
Emotion and Expression
A live musician will be able to convey human emotion and expression better than any live recording. This is one of the biggest points of your ceremony: to adequately express the love you both have for one another.
Wedding Ceremony Variety
Maybe you already have a DJ or big band doing the wedding reception. What better way to mix things up than having a solo guitarist for the ceremony and cocktail hour?
