Salt Creek beginner banjo lesson

Free Banjo Lesson for Salt Creek

Here is the video:

In this FREE banjo lesson, I cover the Bluegrass favorite SALT CREEK.  This arrangement uses only a few rolls and hand positions.

Salt Creek is in the mode of MIXOLYDIAN.  This is why it has a F natural chord and F naturals in the melody.  If you’d like to learn more about MIXOLYDIAN, just search in the top right hand corner; a couple of my blogs on the topic will appear.
If you would like the TAB to this song, you can find it on my website here at:

or it is also available to ALL my Patreon Members:

In closing, Salt Creek is often played in the key of A; if a fiddle or mandolin is involved at your local jam, you will want to practice this with a capo as well.
